When considering a redesign of an existing website compared to starting from scratch, you must consider what steps are already completed in the existing design. For an existing site you are trying to redesign, less content needs to be created, as your domain is already hosted on a server.
Content Creation
When redesigning an existing website, you can use your existing content as a framework for new content or even directly copy what is already created. Creating a new site also requires creating new content from nothing. It is recommended that you read through some of your existing content on your homepage and landing pages to make sure the language is up-to-date and refined.
Hosting and Domain
If your website is already live and public, you already have your domain and hosting set up. New websites will require the purchase of a domain name and the setup of a hosting server.
